Multiple Teams · Baseball off to a solid start

After winning the season opener to 1-A Miller county, the Bulldogs traveled to Pensacola, FL to match their talents against some of the best. They lost a tough first game to a strong Pensacola Catholic High School, who were 30-0 the previous season. The next day, the Bulldogs lost a heart breaker in the bottom of the 7th, 7-6, to Pineforest High School.  After the Pensacola trip, the Bulldogs caught fire and have won four straight games to earn a record of 5-2. Leading the charge offensively is Junior, Morgan Meyers, who is hitting well over .400, as well as Chapman O’Quinn and Hayden Donaldson who are both hitting over .350.  Pitching has been a strong point throughout the season and is one of the reasons the bulldogs are winning or are in close ball games. Junior Owen House is 3-1 with a 1.71 ERA, other notables are Junior Bayley Wright 1-1 with a 0.64 ERA, Senior Kalin Wilson  1.11 ERA in 2 saves, and Freshman Buck Bennett who is 1-0 with a 2.80 ERA.

The Bulldogs hope to continue the hot streak when they open region play against Pelham Tuesday night in Pelham at 5:30 and again Friday night with a double header at home starting at 4:30.
